Synopsis
Set in Naples, in the neighborhood of Sanita which is controlled by the Camorra branch of the dreaded Mafia. The film centers on a group of teenagers led by Nicola with a burning ambition to become rich and powerful. The see the life of crime as the fastest way to achieve their dream despite the dangers that come with the lifestyle which in turn threatens to disrupt their naive dreams and take a toll on their personal relationships. The film is based on the novel by Roberto Saviano and is the debut film of Francesco di Napoli who plays Nicola. Piranhas is directed by Claudio Giovannesi and was released on Feb 13th, 2019.
