After the controversy surrounding the release of masterpiece ‘La Vie D’Adele’, critics and festivals were eager to deem director Kechiche’s latest movie as ‘exploitative’ or ‘exhibitionist’. While you could argue there is some truth in these labels, ‘Mektoub, My Love’ is one of the most electrifying and infectious movies of the year as well. A movie about a student returning to his seaside home town/struggling with love and sex might not sound too interesting on paper, but when it’s so well-acted, beautifully shot and rich with life-like details…
