10 Cloverfield Lane

I was blindsided by this one. Not a fan of the first Cloverfield film, I saw this one as a small snack, but before I knew it I was enjoying it immensely. The story is clever, funny and above all suspenseful as you are kept in the dark about the reality of the situation for the duration of the entire film. A woman wakes up in the basement of a man she has never met. He tells her that she had been in an accident and that he saved her. In the meanwhile Aliens have landed, and have taken over earth. Everybody is dead. The begs the question, is this for real or has he kidnapped her?
