Alias Grace
Canada, created by Sarah Polley
Broadcasted by Netflix
Apparently, Margaret Atwood’s books are really popular these days. After HULU’s The Handmaid’s Tale and CBC’s Wandering Wenda, Alias Grace is another adaptation of one of the Canadian author’s novels. Alias Grace, which takes place in 1843, is another gripping tale of a determined young woman in a patriarchal world full of injustice. It tells the true story of Grace Marks, a poor Irish immigrant maid in Canada, who has been sent to jail for murdering her employers. A crime she did or did not commit. In the mid-nineteenth-century, this trial occupied the entire nation.
