The film is directed by Antti Jokinen and stars Laura Birn as Helene and Johannes Holopainen as her paramour Einar Reuter. Birn spent six months studying art to prepare for the role. Jokinen said, “Whilst doing my research, I discovered a strong, uncompromising, funny and honest artist. Meaning Helene was the perfect character for a dramatic movie.” He co-wrote the script with Marko Leino which is based on the novel Helene written by Raquel Leihu. Helene is directed by Antti Jokinen and was released on Jan 17th, 2020.
