Swallow

When life can sometimes be hard to swallow, sometimes you just swallow things you really shouldn’t be putting in your mouth. Carlo Mirabella-Davis makes his directorial debut in this unorthodox psychological thriller that additionally stars Austin Stowell, Elizabeth Marvel, David Rasche and Denis O’Hare.

The Souvenir: Part 2

Life goes on for those still seeking it. Writer/director Joanna Hogg continues her semi-biographical story of the relationships and ambitions of the wealthy Julie (Honor Swinton Byrne), a film student seeking something more out of her time in Europe. Having dealt with issues of age disparity and dealing with those who have addictions, Julie continues to navigate her world in hopes of finding a little something more as she ambles about the continent of art and allure. While Byrne returns to the lead role, the sequel will additionally feature an ensemble cast of Tilda Swinton, Charlie Heaton, Harris Dickinson, and Joe Alwyn.

Dune

Based on the classic science fiction novels, Dune is a dark sci-fi adventure of the far future. A war for the planet of Arrakis is on between the feuding houses of Atreides and Harkonnen. As war wages on, the young prince Paul Atreides may hold the key to the mysteries of Arrakis with otherworldly spice and dangerous sandworms. If the fact that the film is being helmed by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049) isn’t enough to entice you, perhaps the cast list will that boasts Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem.

Life in showbiz is tough but so can raising a child. Especially if that child just happens to be as talented as his successful parents. Director Leos Carax (Holy Motors, Boy Meets Girl) delivers a family drama posed as a wondrous musical about the price of fame. Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) plays a comedian of provocative humor and gags while his wife played by Marion Cotillard (La Vie En Rose) is a famous singer with a brilliant voice. Together, they have a daughter by the name of Annette who appears to have an exceptional talent at such a young age.
