‘Grey Souls’ by Philippe Claudel’

French author/director Philippe Claudel is different than the aforementioned movie stars. He was a writer first, then a director. In 2008, he touched movie lovers all over the world with his delicate family drama Il y a longtemps que je t’aime. His literary career started in the 1990’s though, culminating with the international succes of Grey Souls, a beautiful novel evolving around the murder of a 17 year old girl in a French village during the First World War.
