‘S’ by J.J. Abrams

J.J. Abrams made his directing debut in 2006 with the third installment of the Mission: Impossible series. Before that, he wrote a number of scripts that turned into highly successful films;  Armageddon (1998) among others.  The man knows how to write a proper storyline. Which is why it isn’t surprising his first novel S is so great. Or actually, the word ‘novel’ falls short when describing this wonderful book. It’s a black box containing a ‘found’ document called ‘Ship of Theseus’. In the margins of the book, two students who found it, wrote down notes that form the paralel story. You haven’t read anything like this before!
