Synopsis
Alex Gibney put together this documentary about Theranos and its founder, Elizabeth Holmes. Gibney directed and produced the documentary, with HBO Documentary Films and Jigsaw Productions behind it. It debuted on HBO in March 2019, after it came out at the Sundance Festival in January of the same year. It garnered positive feedback from critics and audiences, with a 78% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The book Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup is a good complement to this documentary.
