Nomadland

Director Chloé Zhao depicts a stunning and contemplative adaptation of nomadic Americana. Based on the non-fiction book by Jessica Bruder, the film follows the widow Fern (Frances McDormand) as she navigates America looking for worth in work with only her van. She left behind a town that was literally abandoned and seeks little help in her journey. She may open up to the kind stranger David (David Strathairn) but is cautious about wanting to settle down anywhere in her melancholic voyage from town to town and job to job.
