Why: Iranian director Ashgar Fardhadi received global praise for his films A Separation and The Salesman. After Le Passe (2013), which was shot in France, Farhadi turns to Spain for his upcoming film. Everybody Knows, which stars Spanish megastars Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, deals with a Spanish family returning from Argentina to Madrid. The visit is meant to be brief, but unforeseen things keeps the family longer in Europe.
