Why: Damien Chazelle’s is a very interesting one. After writing and directing the brilliant jazz drama Whiplash, he made La La Land, which was heralded as the ‘feel-good movie’ of the century. With his new project, Chazelle goes space-wards. Working yet again with La La Land star Ryan Gosling, First Man is about Neil Armstrong and the 1969 mission to the moon. In the hands of a director this talented, this project is bound to become an absolute must-see.
