Spencer

Based on the 1991 scandal, Spencer follows the internal struggles of Princess Diana during the Christmas gathering of that year. She is still finding it hard to face her family when allegations were revealed that her husband was cheating on her. The Royal Family expects her to behave herself during that Christmas as though nothing were wrong but it’s hard to keep a stiff upper lift with so much anxiety present. Director Pablo Larraín (Jackie) turns this biographical story into more of a horror film by focusing specifically on Diana’s cerebral issues of wanting to escape it all. The film features a fantastic performance by Kristen Stewart in the lead role, with a stellar supporting cast that includes Timothy Spall, Jack Farthing, Sean Harris, and Sally Hawkins.
