Titane

You find a more wild premise for a movie in 2021 than in the surreal thriller that is Titane. This dark picture centers around Alexia, a woman who endured a massive scar to her head during a car crash as a kid. She grew up loving cars in a way that went beyond the mere fascination of parts and style. She is literally sexually attracted to cars and often has sex with them. She’s not so fond of people as she often murders anybody she sleeps with. To conceal her identity when she is wanted by the law, she pretends to be the boy of a depressed and grieving fireman. And her journey only grows more complicated and weird when she discovers she is pregnant with the baby of a car she slept with. This odd picture comes from director Julia Ducournau (Raw) and stars Vincent Lindon, Agathe Rousselle, Garance Marillier, and Laïs Salameh.
