Anti-regime partisan Chandra travels to his home village after learning of his father’s death. He faces physical, social and political obstacles along the way. There is his brother Suraj who is a royalist, then there is Pooja who thinks he is her father. He also has to contend with the rigid caste system that makes his journey even more difficult as he was taking his father’s remains to be cremated in accordance to Hindu tradition. His search for a solution takes him to neighboring mountain villages and encounters with the police and rebels. White Sun is directed by Deepak Rauniyar and was released on Dec 9th, 2016.
